'The question is not whether we are right or mistaken!', they said at the Barcelona camp

At the Barcelona camp they are happy after at least at this stage they have been eliminated from the tournament for the King`s Cup in Spain. Levante filed a complaint that during the first match according contact with surebets between the two teams in the 1/8-finals in the race, Ernesto Valverde`s team relied on a player who was punished. It`s about the young defender Chumi, who had accumulated yellow cards, but doubles for the double. There was a dispute as to whether the penalty applies to the first team matches or not. Lastly, however, the Spanish federation today ruled in favor of Barca, but only because Levante was late in filing a complaint. 'According to the rules, this should have happened within 48 hours after the end of the match. The question is not whether we have been right. The judge in the dispute did not address the case at all because the first condition in the case was not met - the appeal was filed within the statutory time limit!' said the Barcelona's spokesman Josep Vives.

`We believe we have been right, but Levante defends our interest and we respect that!`, Vives said. However, Levante will appeal at least two higher instances - before the Appeals Board and the Sport Tribunal. The decisions have to be made quickly, because the next week will start the quarterfinals for the Spanish Cup. There, the Catalans, who won the 4:2 general dispute, will face Sevilla. `The frogs` hope to change the `los coules` in this pair.
