The Ethics Committee of FIFA begins a formal investigation against Germany concerning receipt of the hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2006, was announced by the world football headquarters.
It will be examined how Germany has earned the right to organize the 2006 World Cup and the related financing.
Six football officials will be investigated - Wolfgang Nirsbah, Heltut Zandrok, Franz Beckenbauer, Theo Cvanciger, and Hans Horts Stefan Schmidt.
Regarding Beckenbauer, Cvancger, Schmitt and Hans, the commission will investigate possible improper payments and contracts for the receipt of an advantage in the selection of 2006 World Cup and the related funding, which could constitute an infringement. Franz Beckenbauer was the President of the Organizing Committee of the 2006 World Cup.
The former President of the German Football Association (AFA) Wolfgang Nirsbah and the former Secretary General Helmut Sandrok will be investigated for a violation of the code of ethics of FIFA.
The Ethics Committee will examine all the evidence and reports on specific cases, together with recommendations, publications, and other media.
