The Australian Ashleigh Barty won the WTA Championship in Shenzhen after defeating last year`s winner Elina Svitolina (Ukraine). Interestingly, Barty achieved the first victory over Svitolina in the sixth match analyzed by combo predictions between them, becoming the first Australian to win the WTA final since 1976, when Evonne Goolagong Cawley did so. The Queensland-born tennis player added to her bank account $ 4, 42 million for her efforts this week - an unprecedented financial bonus for both men and women.
The Australian becomes the fifth tennis player to win the WTA Championship with her debut. This was the first time this was done by Dominika Cibulkova in 2016.
